Merchant Account

An account with a financial provider such as a bank that allows businesses to accept credit cards and debit cards. Once a business has a merchant account they can set up their ecommerce site to process credit card orders directly by using a payment gateway such as DPS (Payment Express), Eway, DirectOne or Paystation.
